Gaemon The Glorious

Gaemon Targaryen, known as Gaemon the Glorious, was the second Lord of Dragonstone of House Targaryen.

Appearance

As is typical of Valyrians, Gaemon had silver hair and violet eyes. As he grew he took to more and more flamboyant fashion to match his larger than life personality. He was known to tie his long hair back and keep the sides of his head shaved, and wore a leather harness rather than a belt to secure himself to the saddle when flying.

History

Gaemon was the son of Lord Aenar Targaryen and had at least one sister, Daenys Targaryen. He came to Dragonstone along with his family in 114 BC.   Gaemon was married to Daenys and together they had several children, Aegon, Elaena, and at least one younger daughter. Aegon and Elaena eventually inherited the rule of Dragonstone from Gaemon.

Legacy

Gaemon was called "Gaemon the Glorious", and he is remembered as the greatest Targaryen Lord of Dragonstone during the Century of Blood.   King Aelyx I Targaryen named his second son after Lord Gaemon. He was tragically tortured to death by Teneah of the Tower during the rule of Baelon I.
