Culture

Traits

One of the few Andal houses in the Stormlands, the Peasebury's have delicate features with fair skin and pale hair in gold and light brown with blue eyes. Despite their lean builds and Andal heritage the Peasebury's also tend to be rather perceptive with great eyesight and quick wits. They have a natural way with the land and are among some of the finest farmers in the south, including houses of the Reach.

History

Origins

One of the many houses who took advantage of the Coming of the Andals, Peasebury lingered in what is now the Crownlands for ages, landless and in service to others before laying claim to land on offer by one of the many Stormkings who have come and gone. Since then they have proven their worth demonstrating a natural skill for working with the land.

Targaryen Dynasty

Aegon's Conquest

Peasebury was one of the houses that resisted Orys Baratheon's advance into the Stormlands and during the fighting Peasebury hall was torched and they were left without a proper seat until after the Conquest concluded and reconstruction could begin. The hall that sits at Poddingfield now is considerably larger and more robust, a reflection of the good times they have enjoyed under a united realm.

First Dornish War

Like many Stormlanders Peasebury had a part to play in the war with Dorne however theirs was more in support, a number of men were sent to the Marches to help create a line of reinforcement and to secure the supply lines down into Dorne, however Peasebury's primary contribution was in food and other supplies.

Seat and Holdings

Poddingfield sits on fertile land near Massey's hook right on the border of the Crownlands. Their lands sprawl with farms that grow everything from their signature crop, pea's, to common things such as wheat and other grains. Unlike most Lords they do not have a fortress or anything of the sort, their strongest defenses are palisade walls.   Peasebury hall; the heart of their seat of Poddingfield, is a large strong wooden greathall with two floors, a trio of apartments on each floor, the Lords Quarters in the back of the second floor, the Lady's quarters and the children's wing flanking it. The ground floor contains a guest suite, a barracks and room for the servants. Around the hall are a number of other buildings that people of the lands have built and occupy creating a makeshift town of Poddingfield.
