Culture
Traits
The Lynderly's are a house of First Men and hold common features of the First Men softened by Andal blood. They commonly have brown hair and hazel or brown eyes.
Customs
The Lynderly's are a house with deep martial traditions not because of an interest or devotion to the seven but because of necessity to survive the constant skirmishing with the tribes and clans of the Mountains of the Moon.

History
Origins
House Lynderly has ruled the Snakewood since before written record. They are one of a handful of houses in the Vale, nearly all of them in the fingers, who survived the Andal invasion and have since then created a fearsome naval force that patrols the Fingers and lends their might to those with coin.
Aegon's Conquest
Lynderly of the Snakewood held one of the few Vale navies that were not burned during the Conquest because they had been serving Braavos at the time and were late returning to the Vale when banners were called. Thanks to this house Arryn still had a force at sea to manage the unruly houses of the Three Sisters and safeguard gulltown until the other houses with might at sea could reform themselves
The attention this drew to the sellsail business that Lynderly engages in has and their seemingly natural skill at it, some say, led directly to Ser Willis Lynderly's capability for his position as Master of Coin.

Seat and Holdings
Snakewood sits on the southernmost of the Fingers, along the mountainous northern shore of a bay of the narrow sea. Nearby castles are Coldwater to the north and Heart's Home to the southwest.
Snakewood itself is a simple but ancient castle in the midst of the tree cover of the Snakewood, surrounding it is the village of snakewood and a wooden palisade wall made of what seems to be ironwood though the Lynderly's claim it is wood long ago sourced from their own lands.
The port of Snakewood is an impressive thing, made from timber locally felled it holds a number of docks and even a dry dock for the construction and repair of ships held by Lynderly and Corbray.
