History
Origins
The Dondarrion line was founded when a messenger from the Storm King was ambushed by two Dornishmen while riding on a stormy night. An arrow killed his horse and his sword broke when he fell. When he thought he was doomed, a bright purple lightning bolt struck the Dornishmen, killing both. The man was thus able to deliver his crucial message on time. For this, the Storm King raised him to lordship, and he became the first Dondarrion.
The Bastard of Blackhaven was killed by Meraxes during the Last Storm, one of the battles during Aegon's Conquest.
The Dornish Wars
House Dondarrion sent a number of men into Dorne with house Baratheon and few returned. A Dondarrion Knight was among those ransomed by King Aegon I who lost their hand before being returned to the Stormlands.
Lord Symon Dondarrion was nearly killed during the burning of Blackhaven losing an eye and much of his nose. Symon later helped Lady Deny Caron repel the Dornish and was killed in the days that followed passing the house to his son, Derrik Dondarrion.

Seat and Holdings
Part of the Dornish Marches, Blackhaven is located in the northern Red Mountains near the Dornish border, north of the Wyl and south of the Cockleswhent.
Blackhaven has black basalt walls and a dry moat said to be bottomless, more likely a natural chasm than a manmade moat. It is small and modest compared to the great castles of the Seven Kingdoms.
Despite this Blackhaven is found to be a warm and welcoming place by those who visit and is a source of pride for the Dondarrions who call it home. Even despite the recent burning by the Vulture King the seat remains stout and comfortable.
